Sono poche le cose che mi piacciono del revival anni ’80, perché diciamocelo, chi ha vissuto quel periodo nella prima parte dell’adolescenza, lo ha vissuto come un incubo. Quando penso a quegli anni mi tornano in mente capelli cotonati, spalline imbottite all’inverosimile e pantaloni con le pence.

Per quanto le case di moda abbiano cambiato alcuni “difetti” dei capi anni ’80 rivisitati e per quanto li abbiano alleggeriti e snelliti, quando li indossiamo in camerino, continuiamo a vederci piccole, foruncolose e insaccate in abiti oversize. È facile ora essere carine con tessuti altamente ricercati che cadono sul fisico nascondendo i difetti e accentuando i pregi. È facile ora essere carine con i leggins che modellano le tue gambe! … noi avevamo i FUSEAUX fatti di stoffe rigide che ingoffavano e cedevano all’altezza delle ginocchia, facendoci sembrare galline.

Sui giornali vediamo ragazze giovani ed altissime entusiaste di questi modelli, ma se proprio vogliamo essere sincere, chi come me quegli anni li ha “indossati”, non riesce a vedere le differenze tra il look di allora e il restyling che ci propongono oggi.

In adolescenza alcune esperienze negative segnano per la vita e la moda degli anno ’80 ci ha segnato! Eppure, mi sono detta, anche dalle esperienze negative si può trovare qualcosa di buono, qualcosa da conservare anche per il futuro. Cosa salvo quindi da questo revival? Le sole due cose che allora mi hanno fatto sentire carina quando non credevo di esserlo: il mascara blu elettrico ed un tocco di FLUO!

There are few things that I like in this 80s revival, because let’s say it, who lived that teenage period, lived it as a nightmare. When I think to those years I remember frizzle hair, thousands of shoulder pads and trousers with pence.

As far as the fashion houses change some of the “flaws” of these eighties’ revisited garments and as far as they make them lighter and smoother, when we try them on in the fitting rooms, we keep on seeing ourselves little pimply girls in oversize dresses. It is easy now to be a nice girl with goods so well made that fall on your body so perfectly that hide lacks and highlight qualities. It is easy now to be a nice girls with leggings that models your legs! … we had the FUSEAUX, made from stiff goods, that stretched on the knees making us look as chickens.

Nowadays, on the magazines, we see young and tall girls so enthusiastic about these outfits, but, let’s be sincere, who already “wore” those years as me, can’t see the differences between the two looks.

In teenage some negative experience can mark you forever and the fashion of the 80s marked most of us! Still, I say to myself, even from a negative experience we can find something good for the future. What I rescue of this revival than?

The only things that made me fill nice when I thought I wasn’t: electric blue mascara and a touch of FLUO!
